A stone for $55 million dollars  

Known as the blue moon diamond at 12.03 carats the Blue Moon diamond is the largest cushion shaped fancy vivid blue coloured diamond ever to appear at auction This magnificent stunningly rare gemstone is Internally flawless and a truly outstanding only to emerge once in a life time it is such a rear discovery, this gift from nature is from the famous Cullinan Mine in South Africa and when discovered was 29.62 carat of rough diamond , its colour is natural due to Boron in the earth’s crust with carbon during its formation ,makes this a rare gift of nature .It took over 6 months to cut and polish to reach its 12,03 carats.  The historical mine is one of the few reliable sources in the world for the blue diamonds.     This exquisite diamond has been graded the highest possible colour grading for blue diamond’s by the gemological institute of America (GIA)

Introducing this beauty was Mr David Bennett worldwide chairman of Sotheby’s international jewellery division who commented the blue moon diamond is a simply sensational stone and for him the most mysterious and magical of all the colours of diamonds and the Blue Moon will now take place among the most famous gems in the world.     The auction will take place at Sotheby’s Geneva on 11 November 2015
